About Symon – An Artist’s Journey
From the moment the scent of paint filled his childhood classroom, Symon knew art was his calling. That early experience left a lasting impression, shaping a passion that would grow throughout his life. Symon’s journey into art began with formal education, first in 3D design and later in Fine Art at the Berkshire College of Art & Design. This solid foundation in diverse artistic disciplines allowed him to explore and develop his unique style that would eventually evolve into a specialisation in Abstract Expressionism.
After his studies, Symon’s creative spirit led him to travel the world. His twenties and thirties were marked by months spent in some of the most exotic corners of the globe, including India, Ladakh, Indonesia, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, and Thailand. During these travels, Symon immersed himself in the vibrancy of different cultures and landscapes. The sights, smells, textures, and colours he encountered left an indelible mark on his creativity. Whether it was the overwhelming beauty of nature or the dynamic energy of bustling cities, each experience shaped his artistic flow, inspiring him to capture the essence of these places in his work.
These global experiences continue to inform Symon’s art. He now works from his studio in East London, where he embraces the messiness of creation, often getting lost in his expressive use of paint. His work is a celebration of bold colours and raw emotion, reflecting the intensity of his experiences from around the world.
In addition to his passion for Abstract painting, Symon finds inspiration in the dynamic world of music, street art, and graffiti. He enjoys blending these influences into his work, creating pieces that are both expressive and contemporary. One notable project was a large-scale mural in Shoreditch, East London, which was displayed for over two months and captured the attention of many art lovers and passersby.
Symon works at Cass Art and has showcased his work in several solo and group exhibitions & gallery shows. His work has been featured at prominent events, including the Oxo Tower & the Fresh Art Fair, where his captivating pieces have earned widespread attention and admiration.
Symon’s art is not just about creating beautiful visuals; it’s about sharing the energy, sensation, and emotion he’s encountered throughout his travels. He hopes to transport his audience into the feeling of each moment, offering a window into the world as he sees it – a world of colour, texture, and endless possibilities.
